Description
Dating to the 1890s era, this magnificent Antique ring boasts three lustrous round pearls of 8 mm each. This jewel was acquired in the UK from a world authority on Antique Jewelry. One cannot help but be impressed with the wonderful craftsmanship - it was completely wrought by hand. The ring boasts 3 Natural Pearls of 8 mm each. The design is pure late Victorian and the mounting is fabulous. Created from Sterling Silver, it features hand-engraved collets for the pearls. The back of the bezel has individual convex collects to protect the backs of the pearls. There is lovely hand-engraving on the shoulders also. The fact that this mounting is crafted from silver rather than white gold indicates an earlier rather than a later date.
The pearls are not cultured, they have that special glow that only natural pearls can impart, although they may be freshwater rather than saltwater (it is impossible to tell without extensive lab testing). The pearls are almost perfectly round without blemishes. Two of the pearls are creamy silver and one has more of a silver tone, which is incredible as It is extremely difficult, to match natural pearls as they were not commercially produced. The bezel of the ring measures 3/4” x 9mm. This ring is so well made that it was almost certainly custom-crafted a fashionable lady of the Belle Epoch at the end of the 19th century when larger pearls came into high fashion.
If you like the finest in Antique Jewelry, this ring belongs on your hand and in your collection! It will harmonise wonderfully with all your antique pearl jewellery and makes a wonderful statement on the hand. Do not miss this Belle Epoch beauty!
