Description
We have up for grabs this 1940’s Sears and Roebuck Scout Knife.
These have now become very collectable. Made by Camillus for Sears and Roebuck.
The beautiful Jigged Bone Handles are Rogers Bone, and are in fantastic condition.
The Main Blade has what all the collectors want and that is a nice Etch. The etch is still strong, it does have fine scratches over the etch, the etch is still very visible.
The main Etch is Craftsman, Craftsman came in very late 1941 and most certainly Craftsman reined from the beginning of 1942. A couple of years earlier the main etch would have read STA-SHARP without any mention of CRAFTSMAN.
So, the main Blade has Craftsman as the main brand name etch with Sta –Sharp and the secondary brand name below the Craftsman.
Sta-Sharp was the Sears and Roebuck owned brand name given to Camillus to use exclusively. Main Spear Blade is nearly full with some careful use, the Screw-Driver and Can Opener blade is in superb condition as is the Spiral punch. The Camillus Spiral punch is extremely popular.
Carbon Steel on all of this nice knife apart from the Scout shield and the Bolsters which are Nickle Silver.
Walk and talk on the over 80 year old knife is superb, and is a high quality knife made by one of America’s greats whom no longer exist now. At 3 & ¾ inches long closed, this is one very neat Knife and the perfect size for the pocket.
Many thanks for looking at this great knife and check out my other auctions for great quality Vintage Knives.
