Amazing, English, double-trigger TRANTER. Rare. Only made for a very short while. NZ wars era. 1860s. 54 bore Those Lovely British proofs clearly stamped on on chambers and barrel. This ‘third’ model has that Wonderful, impractical mechanism with two triggers. The Lower one for advancing the cylinder and cocking, (1st action) while top trigger is for firing (2nd action). Like a Single action revolver. Cock…then Bang… Or… If both pulled, together, it’s a Double action. Bang, bang, bang… This Third model has the double triggers plus an attached loading lever. Earlier leavers weren’t attached, and so they were often lost. Retailed by Blissett in LIVERPOOL (photo). In Good Condition for age, as you can see. Nicely engraved. The action is good and strong… and it works well. They often don’t work well. Every gun maker was trying to get around those many US Civil War era patents, when guns evolved quickly from percussion to brass cartridge. No licence needed as a muzzle loader.
