Description
An ancient clay bowl from the Indus Valley. Circa 3,000 to 2,500 BC. Purchased a number of years ago from a UK Dealer and comes with that dealers Certificate of Authenticity and the appropriate European Union Export Licence. The dealer describes the piece as 'An exquisite ceramic bowl of elliptical shape decorated with 5 large Peepal leaves sprouting from a thin band around the waist of the bowl pointing up towards the rim. The rim is decorated with 2 thin bands with 5 styllized leaves facing down that interlock with the Peepal leaves below. Please note that the dealer advises that the bowl has been repaired and that there is some ancient nibbbling to the rim but, otherwise, the dealer states that condition is Very Fine.
