THIS PIECE IS ONE OF THE FINEST FROM THE ESTATE MUSEUMS VERY RARE COLLECTION OF NETSUKI FROM THE LATER PART OF Edo era c1860's CABINET No.95. This is a very unique and rare Japanese Netsuke which is a stunning detailed carved bone in the shape of a tree trunk with two tiny silver enameled frogs on it, carved by the Edo period 1850/60's well documented craftsman Jikan Ganbun it has a carved signature on the side of the tree trunk, it also has a braided cord which is some sort of what looks like gold coloured cotton that passes through the Netsuke holes to tie onto the sash around the waist . Jikan Ganburns Netsuke are quite rare and often had little creatures like these frogs on them, he was a very well known and respected Netsuke carver in the 19th Century. This delightful Netsuke item measures 1 inch wide x 3/4 inch in height and just over 1/2 inch in overall thickness and has stunning ancient patina and it is in lovely condition. The estate notes list this as bought in the late 1950's from a private collector of Netsuke and Ojime beads and dates from the Edo era Circa 1850/1860's Please view the many pictures I have taken.
