I WILL BE LISTING MORE OF THE RARE AND UNIQUE JEWELLERS LITTLE ESTATE MUSEUM KAURI AMBER /PIECES, THIS IS ANOTHER OF THE FINEST PIECES FROM THEIR RARE VICTORIAN MINIATURES ART CABINET No.302, THIS LISTING IS A LOVELY VICTORIAN STUNNING ORANGE/YELLOW SWIRLED CARVED ANCIENT VERY HARD 700 - 900 YEARS OLD ANCIENT SWAMP KAURI AMBER / GUM UNIQUE ACORN SHAPED PIECE AND ANOTHER OF THE MOST SIGNIFICANT STUNNING PIECES FROM THE ESTATE COLLECTION OF OUR LOVELY SWAMP KAURI TREE KAURI AMBER/GUM OF NEW ZEALANDS HISTORIC PREHISTORIC PAST IT IS JUST UNDER 2 INCHES IN LENGTH AND IS 3/4 INCH WIDE IN THE MIDDLE AND OVERALL THICKNESS OF JUST OVER 1/2 INCH. Included with each piece from the estates little Museum is the moving written verse from their collection. Pictures taken in several different lights & light from a widow showing the various colours, this stunning antique sculptured piece from their cabinets is another late Victorian Kauri amber/gum piece in the shape of a unique acorn shape and has lovely colours of orange/yellow and swirls within the Kauri amber/gum and was bought by the estate Grandfather from an Auckland auction of collection of cut and polished Kauri items in the late 1950's for the estates Museum display of miniature Kauri amber/gum items and the notes from the estate also mention the name Pavletich a Dalmation gum digger so it is probably one of his pieces cut and polished Circa 1880--1890s. Of interest is that the first recorded use of sandpaper was in 13th-century China when crushed shells, seeds, and sand were bonded to parchment using natural gum. Glass paper was invented in London 1883 by John Oakey and Victorians used to polish things like Kauri amber.
