On offer is a lovely medium size polished slice of malachite with a thickness of approximately 0.8cm and a mass of 74g. Malachite is a form of Copper Carbonate which rarely forms crystals. It is more typically found encrusting rocks as a secondary deposit or forms thick bands and layers of massive material. Often deposited slowly and in pulses it creates thin discrete layers with a range of thicknesses in a botryoidal or mammillated formation. When cut and polished the results are stunning. A favourite of collectors and lovers of the aesthetic alike. Supplied with a plastic stand ready for display straight out of the box...
