I WILL BE LISTING MORE OF THE RARE AND UNIQUE JEWELLERS LITTLE ESTATE MUSEUM KAURI AMBER /PIECES, ANOTHER PIECE OF THE FINEST MUSEUM KAURI AMBER/GUM FROM THEIR RARE VICTORIAN MINIATURES ART CABINETS SO FAR CABINET NUMBER RJ 35219, THIS LISTING OF THE ESTATE MUSEUMS IS A LOVELY CARVED PIECE OF VERY HARD SWAMP KAURI AMBER / GUM ABOUT ( 400 - 600 YEARS OLD ) CUT AND POLISHED IN A CHAMFERED TRIANGLE THIS SWAMP KAURI AMBER/GUM IS A VERY SIGNIFICANT SPECIMEN PIECE FROM THE ESTATE MUSEUM AND HAS A WHITE STONE BLOCK AS A BASE TO DISPLAY ON. These special pieces of kauri amber would be perfect for anyone collecting Museum quality cut and polished Kauri amber/ gum. Included with each piece is the moving written verse from the museum collection. Pictures were taken in light from a widow showing the various colours of the Kauri amber/gum and on a white cloth background. This stunning ancient shaped miniature pillars from their cabinets is a late Victorian Kauri amber/gum piece gathered by a gum digger named Pavletich then cut, polished and shaped as a specimen pillar, stunning various dark colours of red, orange and yellow with darker pieces within, these were bought by the estates Grandfather from a collection of Kauri items from a collector in Auckland in the late 1950's for the estates Museum display of miniature Kauri amber/gum items and the diary notes from the estate also mention they were probably cut and polished by the Dalmation gum digger named Pavletich circa 1890--1900. Of interest is that the first recorded use of sandpaper was in 13th-century China when crushed shells, seeds, and sand were bonded to parchment using natural gum.
