Description
Important!! Auction is for Bunny marked as #3 of 3 only. Made by Anton Reiche, Dresden. 30cm tall x 24cm wide.
First photo for presentation only shows 3 rabbits from my collection, all showing the same bunny however made by 3 different manufacturers Eppelsheimer (US); Anton Reiche (DE); Laurosch (DE). This shows how the various firms all copied each others designs once they got hold of them. Anton Reiche being the biggest was likely reproduced by the others.
This sitting festive Easter Bunny Rabbit is from the early 1930 period and highly sought after. Produced from tinned steel hand pressed by tinsmiths. Reiche was the world’s largest, most well known metal mold manufacturer for chocolatiers up until his factory was bombed during the allied raids in WW2.
Sides matched + align well #61, catalogue #6202 visible. This classic is stamp with makers mark - showing this was manufactured in 1935.
**Vintage antique metal with minor age marks on exterior the dark grey patina is amazing. Interior is shiny with little to no tarnishing and still usable - you should verify the metal used.
Use for moulding chocolate or candy for the kids once verified, or display as a collectors piece (you will see similar pieces in museums), wall art, man cave toys, or as standout vintage kitchenalia / industrial décor, make candles, wax candle figurines, chalkware ornaments.
