ART DECO era BRASS Beer Bottle Opener NAKED WOMAN Highly Attractive NUDE Lady
My Grandfather owned one of these and I admired it from a very young age
Over the years I have bought and sold many like her
BUT not all are created equal
I would call this a "First Generation" casting made back in the 1930's - 1940's
Because they were understandably POPULAR with male beer drinkers?
They were COPIED and were usually CAST OFF-OF one of these "originals" with the result that the got crappier and crappier as they were poorly cast.
The "lesser" examples display crude cast-lines down the sides and do not FEEL NICE "in-hand"
That is why I took the time and trouble to picture this voluptuous lady side-on so that you can see she one of the earlier renditions WITHOUT the yucky cast-lines and with very well defined anatomy

fyi, ? fun ho made something like this, also apparently....regards s******7 (440 • 4:03 pm, Sun, 11 May )Now that I did NOT KNOW and I am FAR from "expert" on things Fun-Ho, but I am reasonably sure that many of "their" models were shamelessly copied from other (then VERY EXPENSIVELY-TAXED) imported toys. I would not expect that a Fun Ho version of this bottle opener would have retained the superb anatomical detail that this voluptuous woman has. And very likely would have been moulded-off-of the original, leaving rough crude casting marks, that did not deter Kiwi buyers in the 1950's🙂 phillipjames (9232 • Sunday, 11 May 2025 )May be of interest, I have the same bottle opener except the casting includes a 12mm high and 24mm square plinth on which the lovely lady stands. It has 'MADE IN ENGLAND' cast faintly on the top of the reverse side. m****0 (325 • 7:23 pm, Wed, 14 May )I have owned and sold several of these Iconic bottle openers with the pedestal you speak of. They are even BETTER than what I am offering here, as they can "Stand Up" on display when not in use. 🙂 phillipjames (9232 • Wednesday, 14 May 2025 )
