Description
Flown on 11 July 1933, this original First Flight cover celebrates the Trans-Indian Airmail route westward from Allahabad to Delhi. It features a 2 Annas green airmail stamp (King George V and aircraft), with decorative cachets and souvenir printing by Imperial Stamp Co., Allahabad. The reverse side includes an additional 1½ Anna violet stamp and the “Calcutta–Karachi First Airmail” handstamp. Clear dated postmarks at both ends. A fine piece of India’s early airmail history and a well-preserved philatelic souvenir.
