An antique VESTA Match Case of unusual TRIPLE "function"
Antique VESTA Match Case Matchsafe WITH a COMPASS & a WHISTLE Made for MacGyver?
Vesta's are called "Matchsafes" in USA
This one has both a WHISTLE and a Navigational COMPASS function also
I have seen many that are DUAL FUNCTION
But this a FIRST for me....A vesta that has THREE "functions"
May be a MacGyver SPECIAL?...Angus MacGyver could likely conquer the world single-handedly with such a "Super Tool" :-)
SADLY the glass of the Compass has been shattered, so that would impeed MacGyver's world conquest (Only marginally?)
BUT it would NOT be Rocket Science to grind up a new glass lens and install it to renew the Compass's functionality
Likely it once had some metal logo plaque affixed to the top of the central barrel where today there are just two holes, I can onlygues what that might have been?
One of several interesting REAL antique match cases that I have listed to end on Sunday night

Hi does compas work also can broken glass be replaced thanks pensionerjohn d******0 (564 • 1:27 pm, Fri, 2 May )The Compass APPEARS to be working (IE showing true North when I photographed it) That despite the smashed Glass. The glass COULD be replaced, but would likely need a Jeweler or someone like a Gem-Setter, or anyone with similar "Stone-mounting" skill. The actual Glass could get ground from any available larger size bit of Glass. NOT something that I have the skills for......but hardly "Mission Impossible" either🙂 phillipjames (9220 • Friday, 2 May 2025 )Thanks d******0 (564 • 5:21 pm, Fri, 2 May )You are most WELCOME.....Sometimes the ONLY silly question was the one NOT asked 🙂 phillipjames (9220 • Friday, 2 May 2025 )
