Nice Vintage spearwell axe / hatchet head. Bold “S” spearwell logo stamp, and “England” stamped underneath that.

Excellent light weight head, In Very nice shape, it has seen very little use. And is covered by a nice even patina. No cracks, no chips.

SPEARWELL, is a branding that came out of England as spear and Jackson were buying and integrating other makers like BRADES and elwell in to the their “tool takeover” of England. Spearwell uses the “spear” from spear and Jackson, and the “well” from elwell. Spearwell made many many tools for the British army and navy.

*this is the first time this axe will be sold in Nz marketplace, as is the case with 99% of my axes. I have gathered most from the uk and USA over the past 15 years.

I will be letting go of quite a large percentage of my axe and hatchet collection here on trade me, all types of patterns and origins and quality's (from mint to Rusty). There will be both with and without handles and some very nice handles by them selves. will not be doing pick ups, so post only.
