This is a simply super folding pruning knife made by the world renowned English ( and Sheffield ) knife manufacturer, George Wostenholm.

It measures about 8 1/2 inches in length when open at full stretch and when closed about 5 inches in length.

The knife dates back to the early 1900's and is in exceptional condition with a beautiful, curved, rosewood handle secured by four metal pins on each side.

It has a hawksbill steel blade which is still in excellent condition.

In the centre of the blade, in italicised letters, is impressed, " I X L '' , the Wostenholm motto which stands for ' I EXCEL' .

Just under the ferrule is impressed,

' GEORGE WOSTENHOLM SHEFFIELD '.

This is a super, super working knife in magnificent working condition by a top, top maker.

It would be a handy tool for the gardener but also a memento for the ardent tool collector, knife collector or gardenalia collector.
