For auction, as one lot, is this group of seven chisels and gouges manufactured by W. Marples & Sons.

They date back to the late 19th Century or the early 1900's.

They are all in lovely condition: the blades are cast steel, the ferrules are brass and the turned handles, for the most part, are made of beechwood.

All the chisels and gouges are in super, cleaned-up condition - good users indeed.

The longest chisel is a tad under 10 inches in length and the shortest 7 1/4 inches in length.

The size of the cutting edge of each chisel from left to right in photo 1 is: 1/2 inch 1/4 in., 1/2 in., 1/4 in., 1/8 in., 3/8 in., 1/4 in.

Each tool reflects the quality of English edge tools pre World War I and each one has a Marples maker's mark on it.

This is an exquisite group.
