Beautiful condition vintage “No1 ROB T SORBY SHEFFIELD” stamped Kent axe/ hatchet
Approx measurements: Blade: 90mm Butt to blade: 160mm Weight: 650 grams
This beautiful condition stamped sorby Kent axe is a nice collectors piece. It is re fitted with the original handle. Stamps are in excellent condition, nice and even, reading “No1 ROB T SORBY SHEFFIELD. Nice display worthy blade, and almost untainted Kent pattern silhouette with good edges all around as having not seen much use. I have applied a patina because it was covered in paint when I bought it and I had to wire wheel the most original patina off. Ready to hang or swing.
*this is the first time this axe will be sold in Nz marketplace, as is the case with 99% of my axes. have gathered most from the uk and USA over the past 15 years. I will be letting go of quite a large percentage of my axe and hatchet collection here on trade me, all types of patterns and origins and quality's (from mint to Rusty). There will be both with and without handles and some very nice handles by them selves. will not be doing pick ups, so post only. Please make contact within 3 days of auction ending. And no winner of any auction will get any special access to the rest of my collection. Selling via Trade me uploads only. Cheers.

Hey mate but you seem like some who might know. Sorry for the question but any idea where I could get a handle for a head like that? scubafreak (261 • 10:04 pm, Sun, 31 Aug )Hi there, well it depends on if you want a vintage one or a new one, I would usually just fix up older handles that came with old heads, But if you just wanted a cheap new one, I’m sure you can still buy hatchet handles from places like Bunnings or mitre 10 etc. cheers. eastongallagher (163 • Sunday, 31 August 2025 )
