Description

Limited edition work by acclaimed British artist, Rick Lewis, a bronze of Sir Tristram. Commissioned by Sir Patrick Hogan for his Cambridge Stud breed shaping Champion Stallion. Sir Tristram was unique, a successful racehorse, but with great blood in his veins. By Sir Ivor, he ran unplaced in the English Derby but surpassed those ahead of him by being the most successful sire in that Derby. He came to New Zealand, and immediately was successful with Group One winners from his first crop of foals. He then left many other Group One winners from each crop of his foals. Sir Tristram then left his own champion stallion in Zabeel, again standing at Cambridge Stud. Zabeel eclipsed his father in leaving Group One winners and has himself then left another Champion stallion in Savabeel, New Zealand's Champion stallion for the last seven years. Sir Tristram, unique, a Champion stallion.
