Description
This is a Makonde Ujamaa of "Tree of Life' sculpture. It is a traditional carving from the makonde people of East African, specifically Tanzania and Mozambique.
It represents the interconnectedness of life and community, with figures often depicting family or community members. It has a dark wood tone and is most likely ebony.
The piece measures approx 30cm high. It is in very good condition. Please check pictures for best description. You are welcome to come view (on the North Shore) before purchase.
