LOOK OUT FOR MY OTHER EBONY CARVING LISTINGS TOO; THEY LOOK GREAT AS A GROUPING
Purchased from the Kamba or Akamba - an ethnic Bantu group who predominantly live in Kenya, stretching from Nairobi to Tsavo and northwards to Embu, in the southern part of the former Eastern Province.
EVERY PIECE IS UNIQUE, handmade from a single piece of ebony wood. The process of making this was lengthy, and the craftsmanship of the carving is also remarkable for the depth it achieves.
The Kamba are known for their intricate and skilled ebony carving, which they view as a sacred process. They often use the wood for creating various sculptures, including those representing their beliefs and traditions.
