In Maori mythology, Tangaroa is the guardian God of the sea, rivers, the water realm of Aotearoa. The gold leaf sky and water shimmer while the deep tones bring the ambiance of this god, who was also known as a Taniwha to life, it includes the story of the Paua shell as he gave life to its beautiful shell. This painting changes throughout the day and night as it is painted over a canvas of gold leaf.
This original painting was created with high-quality acrylic and oil paints, the gold leaf adds an extra layer of sophistication.
