Description
" Butchers Dam" central Otago painted by Kenneth Nelson, 1978, Oil on Board Signed lower right and Titled and dated with Artists details on the back.
This is a stunning painting capturing Central Otago at it's best.
" Kenneth Nelson was born in 1927 in Dunedin and developed a love of the landscape through tramping. Over many years his painting style changed from watercolours to the exacting oils using palette knives. He had a special interest in the high country of Central Otago and the MacKenzie Country. His paintings can be found in many collections, both public and private in New Zealand and many other countries. Ken was a past presidents the Otago Art Society and he was an active contributor to the Dunedin art scene during the 1960 - 1990 's. He was a major prize winner in the 1971 Kelleher Art Competition"
Original frame. Measures 680 mm x 505 mm. Painting measures 600 mm x 420 mm. Both in very good condition.
