This is a painting I did when I was feeling very disillusioned with art. I felt like nothing I was doing was good enough. It became a chore to make myself create so I just stopped doing it. I had lost my spark. My shelves were filled with unfinished projects because none of them were turning out the way that I wanted. I decided that I needed to find the joy in art again. So, I sat down with a piece of scrap cardboard and just started painting. I allowed myself to make mistakes and find the beauty in the imperfections. What I got out of it was one of my favorite pieces, even if it isn't perfect.
