Description
A vintage Rodenstock advertising poster print. Rodenstock are a German Munich company founded in 1877 and specialising in eyeware lenses and frames.
This particular advertising item would date to the 1960s or early 1970s. In the bottom left corner is the company name and "Modell Beatrice". In looking at the woman, I was conflicted, because I believed she could be Sophia Loren rather than a Beatrice. Subsequent research has revealed that Beatrice is actually the model name for the glasses and Sophia Loren did at one time 'champion' Rodenstock eyeware. However, I've been unable to find another example of this image, so would be fascinated to hear from anyone who can verify or discount Sophia as the subject.
The visible image measures 33cm by 48cm and the frame 48cm by 63cm. The picture is in generally good condition with only minor marks on the surface, whereas the frame is a lil 'worse for wear'.
