Description
An original vintage painting of the Church of the Saviour in Irkutsk, Russia. I would date this artwork to the 1970s or thereabouts.
The artwork appears to be a combination of pastel, pencil/ink and watercolour. The visible image measures 22cm by 35cm(the frame 34cm by 47cm), it's protected behind glass, in good condition and ready to hang. The frame itself has some minor scratches and marks, but they're not significant(see photos).
It took some searching, but I found the actual church. It's an Eastern Orthodox church, built over 300 years ago in Irkutsk founded in 1661 and one of the largest cities in Siberia(>600,00 inhabitants), lying to the north of Mongolia. Rudolf Nureyev was born near Irkutsk.
