Description
A vintage etching with aquatint by William Haeburn-Little(b1894-?). The artist's signature and scene/title appear beneath the artwork. The scene is a mosque archway in Fez, Morocco - described in French. Interestingly, there's a Jan, 1923 copyright for the Fine Art Studio, London W1 printed at the top. I have seen the same on another of his etching aquatints, a Cairo scene.
I have found little information regarding the artist, other than, he was working in London in his early artistic years, possibly having lived in Lisbon, Portugal for a time, and living and working in Newport on Tay(Dundee) in his later years. I suspect a difficulty in deciphering his signature may've added to this anonymity over time.
The visible image measures 15cm by 20cm(the frame 27cm by 35cm), it's protected behind glass, in good condition and ready to hang.
