Description
Two sets of antique copper engraved and handcoloured "Pyne's Rustic Figures" dating from 1814-1815.
Portrayed are ordinary 'rustic' people of the time - men, women and children.
Both are mounted within thick card and encased with a cellophane wrap. They are in good condition. The artworks measure 14cm by 22cm and the cards 27cm by 36cm.
William Henry Pyne(1770-1843) first exhibited with the Royal Academy in 1790 and was one of the founders of the Royal Watercolour Society in 1804.
