Mexican artist Frida Kahlo is known for her self portraits, impeccable style, and her life long love of animals. Kahlo and her husband, artist Diego Rivera, were particularly fond of Xoloitzcuintli dogs (pronounced "show-low-eats-QUEENT-lee"), a type of hairless canine.????Known simply as Xolos, or Mexican hairless dogs, this ancient dog breed dates back 3,500 years. They were considered sacred by the Aztecs and were often sacrificed and buried alongside their owners to serve as protective guides to the next world. ???? Frida owned various Xolos throughout her life, including La Capulina, and, her favorite, Señor Xolotl. Her dogs appear frequently in her paintings, her self portraits, her diary and in photos taken of her. ?This giclee art print has been produced on luxurious 100% cotton rag textured art paper using archival quality inks resulting in a superior print suitable for museum or gallery display.

Here you can select between various sizes and choose to purchase the print either unframed or framed in one of three contemporary styles.
