11 Damaged Children’s Books

These are all worn or damaged in some way but are still of use for scrapbooking etc.

1. Pony Seems to be part of another book so have no title or publications details. Looks Victorian.
2. Susan’s Bears by Mildred Lawrence A Story Parade Picture Book published by Grosset and Dunlap (New York), c1945 Hardback: covers are rubbed and worn, internal foxing and a few scribbles and tears.
3. Freddie on the Farm – An Animated Playbook Peter Huston Published in Australia (ca 1940s) Paperback: worn and bits are missing
4. A Flat Iron for a Farthing by Juliana Horatia Ewing G. Bell and Sons (London), 1913 (new edition) Illustrated by Mrs Allingham. 116 pages. Covers are worn and cracked, spine covering missing, a few internal marks etc
5. Graffy by Eileen Aldridge The Medici Society (London), 1947 Covers and top page edges are a bit damp stained, staples rusted.
6. The Children’s Musical Cinderella Words by William Routledge, music by Louis N. Parker George Routledge (London), ca 1879 Incomplete (has only 8 of the original 30 pages) but has a few nice illustrations by Walter Crane.
7. Jimmy and the Bridge by Kenneth Saunders (Building of the Auckland Harbour Bridge) A.H. & A.W. Reed , 1959. Middle page is missing
8. Lucie Attwell’s Book of Little Verses Dean, 1974 Hardback: lower spine damaged, contents loose in covers, title page has tape repairs.
9. With Roswitha in Fairyland (Volume 6) Paintings and text by the young artist Roswitha Bitterlich. Covers are missing. Published in Germany
10. Ali, The Runaway Donkey by Neville Main The Brockhampton Press – no date (ca 1940s) Hardback: spine covered with tape, binding loose, tears and tape marks etc.
11. Birthday Story Book Blackie (London) – no date (ca 1920s) Hardback: spine covering is missing, a few marks etc
