The Crime Syndicate of Amerika (evil versions of the JLA) of Earth-3 die trying, along with their world. Batman receives an ominous warning from the Flash. Weather and natural disasters are out of control.

An eclectic group of heroes and villains from around the multiverse are assembled to halt the death and destruction, and the being known as the Monitor may be the only one who can help them. 1st appearance of Alexander Luthor. Featuring the deaths of the Crime Syndicate of Amerika and Lex Luthor of Earth-3.

The biggest epic in DCU history, a group of heroes and villains, including the likes of the Golden Age Superman of Earth-2, Firestorm, Green Lantern (John Stewart), Doctor Polaris, Psi-Mon, and more, have been assembled by the enigmatic being known as the Monitor and his partner, the woman simply known as Harbinger.

They have been dispatched throughout the multiverse, and time itself, to defend monolithic machines that may halt the advance of the destructive anti-matter wave which is sweeping across the infinite. However, they'll find this a task easier said than done when their enemy's agents, sinister Shadow Demons, rise up to destroy them.
