Supreme Feature-Comic No 12 Issued June 1945? 20 Pages including the Cover Dimensions: 245x190mm

SUPREME FEATURE-COMICS are one of the only series of comics ever printed and produced in New Zealand prior to the modern age making them extremely rare. They were published by J Yock & Co (Auckland) from 1944 to 1947 producing 33 separate issues. There are no credits on any of the comics, but it is understood most were drawn by Harry Bennett, an Australian cartoonist who had emigrated to New Zealand. This publication is in the style of British story papers, with a mix of colour, black and white strips, text stories and puzzles. Very little is known about Harry Bennett, said to be the major contributor to this comic series. There's a very brief biography at Design & Art Australia Online: "Early 20th century West Australian-born newspaper cartoonist who moved to New Zealand at an early age and who began his career aged 13 contributing political cartoons to New Zealand's Christchurch Spectactor. Bennett's work also appeared in London and New York publications as well as a number of Sydney papers including the Sunday Sun and the Sydney Mail."

This comic is complete and in near mint condition with no marks, creases, tears or any other damage. Both the colour and the black and white strips are still bright and clean. There is minimal cover and edge wear. Overall This is and excellent copy
