I had a great comic-filled childhood, mostly with War Picture Library and Phantoms which I loved and read regularly as my uncles had a stash I could access. I collected a random collection of picture library comics over my early life, and I am now in my twilight years, and my kids have no interest so here they are!

I have divided my whole collection up into the different series for sale: the UK series’ of Battle Picture Library, War Picture Library, Star Love Stories in Pictures and the very small collection of Leisure War and Detective Picture Library which were published in New Plymouth by Leisure Associates. I am hoping to sell to another comic collector with the same love as me of the cartoon artists and writers who produced these literary treats for us to escape into!

The War Picture Library comics were published in England by Freeway Publishers, the same company that published the Battle Picture Library series. These are very rare early issues dating from 1964 to 1977. All issues are in good condition even the 2 earliest issues.

The War Library series of comics were first published in1958 and continued to enthrall readers right through to the mid 80's. The lifelike graphics and story line in each issue reflected many soldiers' memories of life during the war years. Wikipedia has a whole host of knowledge available on its free encyclopedia site.
