I had a great comic-filled childhood, mostly with War Picture Library and Phantoms which I loved and read regularly as my uncles had a stash I could access. I collected a random collection of picture library comics over my early life, and I am now in my twilight years and my kids have no interest so here they are!

I have divided my whole collection up into the different series for sale: the UK series’ of Battle Picture Library, War Picture Library, Star Love Stories in Pictures and the very small collection of Leisure War and Detective Picture Library which were published in New Plymouth, NZ by Leisure Associates. I am hoping to sell to another comic collector with the same love of the cartoon artists and writers who produced these literary treats for us to escape into!

The leisure war libraries and detective libraries were published weekly in New Plymouth, in New Zealand by Leisure Associates but have no publishing date in them. According to research via the National Library of NZ, they were likely published in the 1970’s and 80’s. These are very rare early issues and all are in excellent condition.

The six comics advertised here are the remainder of my collection. Five are from the War Library series, issues 2, 6, 9, 12, 33 and 35. There is also one from the Detective Library series, issue 12.

The buy price does not include delivery. I am prepared to negotiate the shipping of this item with the buyer at their risk and expense. All care will be taken with packaging.
