CREATIVE POULTRY BREEDING By Dr W.C (Clive) Carefoot

Signed first edition. Published privately in 1985. 500 printed and this copy numbered 258. Dr Carefoot was a professional poultry geneticist and President of The Poultry Club of Great Britain 1985 - 1986. He was also, probably, the most successful poultry showman in the UK of his generation.

This is a legendary book! As rare as hens teeth (pun intended) in a signed first edition. Internationally, these sell immediately and for great prices, when original first editions hit the market. Currently (as at 7/4/25) I don't see another first edition (blue cover) copy available anywhere worldwide. This book is a sound investment.

Blue laminated boards with gold embossed title print front and spine. Hardcovers and measuring 21.3cm x 15.1cm. 200 pages. Many black and white photographs. Eight pages of colour photographs as a centre piece. The binding is sound and intact. The only hand writing is the author's own inscription. No turned corners; rips, tears or missing pages. The covers are undamaged. This book is now 40 years old, and in keeping with this, the pages show yellowing, foxing and age spotting in places. Overall, in pretty good condition.
