Good hardback with jacket. No inscriptions. Black cloth board with gilt titles to spine. Spine is a little concave with some compression to ends, bottom corners are bumped, minor marks. Closed page block has a little foxing. Jacket is not price-clipped. It has some fading to spine area with some edge wear and creasing, 2cm repaired tear to edge of spine, foxing to reverse side.
Set in the turbulent times of twelfth-century England when civil war, famine, religious strife and battles over royal succession tore lives and families apart, "The Pillars of the Earth" tells the story of the building of a magnificent cathedral.
