Description
Very scarce, hardcover with dustjacket book. Book itself in very good condition with a few age spots at very edge of pages, but dustjacket is worn and a bit nicked away at the edges and there's some age spots and minor stains. But the photos that make up the dustjacket on the back and front are vivid and there's no fading.
The Titi / Muttonbird Islands, a group of islands near Stewart Island/Rakiura in New Zealand, are culturally significant for the Rakiura Maori, who have ancestral rights to harvest the sooty shearwater chicks (known as muttonbirds or titi) during a specific season. These islands are not permanently inhabited, but are visited annually during the harvesting season, which runs from April 1st to May 31st.
Note photos showing the chapter and appendix details and the details of the author and her connection to the Muttonbird Islands. Any questions please ask.
