Description
Circa 1995 Stanley Super Star Fire/Range
We have redecorated and its time to move on this much loved fire. It has heated our hot water and cooked meals in our family home for the past winters. We stopped using this beauty in September last year.
We have burned just wood each winter and it has heated our living area, been used pretty much every night for cooking (both upper oven and cook top) and has served all our hot water cylinder heating during the winter.
It is getting a bit tired now, and would benefit from some maintenance and repair, or will sparkle after a full refurbishment. Issues include a crack in the steel of the oven lining, one of the two glass layers on the oven door is broken, the roof of the lower oven is loose and was held up with bricks, and the fire bricks are broken after removal. The wet back box was replaced 10 years ago.
Buyer must pick up and it's very heavy. We have taken off all components to reduce the weight when we took it out (all doors taken off etc), it is now stored across two pallets in the carport. It took 4 strong people to strop lift it out of the kitchen to the garage even with this reduction.
Flue and fire guard available if you want these too.
Much loved but time to move on. Super low reserve so get in quick.

Is the Boiler only on the rear of the Fire Box, or does it have a section of the Boilers face on the side of the Fire Box AS WELL? Are all the Fire Bricks in good condition? Is the Upper Oven's Roof panel in sound condition or is it also cracked/broken? Has the cooker been used without any water flowing through its Boiler at any time? A photo of the underside of the main large Hot Plate would be helpful. Also an image of its main Fire Grate. Cheers v*********y (101 • 10:26 pm, Sun, 11 May )Boiler is rear section only. Firebricks are not in good condition. These were broken when taken out of the fire box to reduce weight getting the unit out. Ive kept them in but would recommend buying a new set. Upper oven top is cracked. I’ve added a photo of this and of the grate. There are a few firebrick pieces still left in the grate from moving it but it is in good condition otherwise. We didn’t burn wood with nails or anything so as to keep it clear. jesslee2 (108 • Sunday, 11 May 2025 )Has the Boiler ever leaked water or has water ever been coming down the Flue & onto the cooker and/or its Flue receiving Box. Thanks v*********y (101 • 10:28 pm, Sun, 11 May )Hi. Boiler/wet back leaked and was replaced with a new one about 10years ago. We replaced the firebricks at the same time but as mentioned above they are very broken. Not aware of any water coming down the flue but we do live in windy Wellington jesslee2 (108 • Sunday, 11 May 2025 )Cooker has never been used without water through the wet back. We have always had it connected to the hwc. Seller comment Monday, 12 May 2025 I’ve added photos. Last one is by where the flue connected. It’s full of ash and whatnot but hopefully gives you an idea of its condition. Seller comment Monday, 12 May 2025
