The sun’s heat reaches us in the form of infrared rays, warming solid objects, but not the air. An infrared halogen heater uses the same principle. It directs heat in the form of safe infrared light - to directly warm the objects and people it reaches.
This gives infrared many distinct advantages over traditional heaters and fires, which all achieve their effect by heating the air, which then rises towards ceilings or can be lost in space when outdoors. This heat loss can be avoided using infrared.
