Description

"Kitset" building - please read description. I really had no idea where to list this, so chose this category.

This is the building in the first photo which has been carefully disassembled and placed into two shipping containers which are currently stored in Christchurch. The photos show it as it was, and how it sits now all tucked up in its containers.

The structural elements of the building were the full scale test structure for the earthquake resistant building system developed at Canterbury University and commercialised by the Structural Timber Innovation Company - it is called the "STIC building". Once it was finished it was turned into the building you see and was located at Canterbury University. After I purchased it, it was dismantled and stored. My intended use was for my office but another opportunity meant that it was never used for that and I onsold the site I had picked for it and it has sat ever since - options I considered were a tiny home, a bach or a granny flat.

You are taking on a project. You will need to engage with engineers council and so forth, build some foundations (fairly straightforward actually) and then reassemble. There will be some reconfiguration required and the roof was butynol and so sacrificial. The original configuration was 6.5m x 10m footprint with 105sq m occupiable space. likely you will want to reconfigure it for your use.

Other things you need to know: I rent the 40ft container and so you will need to do a deal with them about taking over the 40 ft container lease. I own the 20ft container and that is part of the deal.

It has to be uplifted no later than 31 October and shifted. Access is straightforward and I can put you in touch with people to help organise it. I will set up a onedrive link with some old and out of date indicative information about what is in the boxes and other stuff - trademe won't let me upload pdfs.

Start is reserve - my loss will be your opportunity.

EDITED TO ADD: This is a plus GST sale.
