Pekin- Khaki Campbell Fertile Eggs

• 12 eggs
• They may be Pekin, Khaki Campbell or a mix of both.
• Brinsea incubators work better then other ones.
• Can be a fun experience for the children
• You will need a heated area to keep them warm after they hatch for about 6 weeks. A heat plate that they can go underneath works best.
• if the weather is cool they may need a little longer then 6 weeks of warmth.
• Always have food and water available for them and a clean enclosure
• Make sure not to feed them medicated baby chick food because that will kill them. Meat bird crumble works best mixed with crushed grain.

Great things about ducks and drakes:

*Khaki Campbell's eat a bit less then Pekin ducks.

• Females are great egg layers and make great mothers.
• They are very friendly and make great pets.
• Drakes don't usually fight like roosters do. They enjoy each other's company and make strong friendships.
• Fantastic for orchards as they keep the bugs and weeds down while enriching the soil with their nitrogen rich poop which is 80% water and breaks down easily.
• Very entertaining and heaps of fun.

Ducks / Drakes need:

• Company, Always have more then one. A small group is more ideal.
• Plenty of space to forage, and whole grain or crushed duck food 1 or 2 times a day. They also like most vegetables. Careful not to over feed because they love to eat and can become over weight.
• Water to bathe, drink and enjoy. A pond or children's padding pool is great. They need a bucket to dunk their head.
• A fence that they can't go under or through to keep them contained. Usually they will just stay in an area that has water.
• A place to sleep at night, a little duck house or large wooden box with straw.
• Treated with love and respect. I am sure you will love your ducks because they are so lovable, cute and funny.
