Description

These tools in the photo belonged to a potter and were purchased a long time ago, but I never used them. He said nichrome wire inside the kiln had been replaced with new one.

Pottery wheel is rotated by pedaling with your feet, and they are now a valuable item. The inside dimensions of the Kiln are 380 x380x 430(mm)depth. The electricity used is 1:2 phase. Please see photos .

Buyer must make contact within 3 days and payment within 7 days of auction closing, otherwise item will be relisted.

  • Any chance getting it to auckland 420music (32) • 10:17 pm, Sun, 19 Oct No, this auction is for pickup only. yumeo (867) • Sunday, 19 October 2025
  • You mention it is 3 phase. Did it get changed to 3 phase (the tag says it’s 1 or 2 phase)..? 2300252 (377) • 5:35 am, Mon, 20 Oct I’ve never used this kiln, but I had assumed it was a 3-phase. The correct answer is PHASE 1:2 as stated on the plate. yumeo (867) • Monday, 20 October 2025
  • Hi. According to the placard on the kiln, the kiln is single phase, not 3-phase. It can be plugged into a standard wall outlet, provided not much else is also on the same circuit. Single phase is easier for home potters to install and use. whstler (240) • 6:23 am, Mon, 20 Oct Hi, thanks for your questions, I haven’t changed it to 3 phase. The name plate says 1:2 Phase, so that’s correct, 3 phase requires which is a lot of work. The kiln is very heavy, but if the trailer floor height is less than 460mm and the outer width is less than 1800mm, you can lift the kiln onto the trailer floor at my garage. I think you need a four wheel trailer, because kiln is very heavy. yumeo (867) • Monday, 20 October 2025
  • These kilns are not plug in. They have to be hardwired by an electrician just like an electric stove. downsizer16 (827) • 9:51 pm, Mon, 20 Oct Yes, aside from small kiln, most kilns use around 6 KW of power, so you need electrician to connect the wire. yumeo (867) • Monday, 20 October 2025
  • Hi there, could I possibly buy “the gas kiln book” by Chris Cockell off you? I have been trying to find a copy of this. Thank you jwhitta (30) • 10:25 pm, Mon, 20 Oct If the auction falls through,I’ll put only the book you want on auction. yumeo (867) • Monday, 20 October 2025
  • Good evening, if I won this could I pick it up in a month? I live near Nelson. Would pay for it right away of course. jay815 (284) • 8:24 pm, Tue, 21 Oct The limit is about three weeks, but could you please specify how many days from auction closing? Thanks yumeo (867) • Tuesday, 21 October 2025
  • Yea that would have been a better question, ok so within three weeks of closing. That might be possible, cheers jay815 (284) • 11:14 pm, Tue, 21 Oct Thanks yumeo (867) • Tuesday, 21 October 2025
  • Hi, does the kiln have a controller? henri_steele (3) • 7:11 pm, Thu, 23 Oct I’ve never used it so I’m not sure, but I think two white dials that controls the temperature and on/off switch. yumeo (867) • Thursday, 23 October 2025
