I feel like I am selling my old friend!
Purchased on 29 October 1971 when I was a teenager, I have owned this BERNINA RECORD 830 sewing machine for 53 1/2 years. I still have the original warranty card which covered the machine for 25 years!
Now, although the machine still works perfectly, I can hardly lift it when it is packed in it's case so I think it is time to say goodbye. Also we are downsizing.
In recent years the machine has been used only occasionally to do minor repairs.
It has always been kept in a warm, dry home and is oiled regularly.
Over the years it has been serviced though I see the last time was nine years ago.
The timing is perfect.
As you can see from the photos there is some damage.
Part of the foot control broke off after it was dropped but I have used it like that for years. It might be advisable for the buyer to try to source a replacement.
Some paint is missing off the 'body' of the machine and the sewing table. The carry case has a few marks on it.
The machine comes with a knee lift (for when you are doing embroidery etc.).
The bobbin case is in the machine and the most used presser foot is on the machine.
The tool box contains 11 of the 12 different presser feet, eight bobbins, a cleaning brush plus other bits and pieces.
The original instruction book is in the carry case.
I hope someone else can get some more years of use out of this reliable, old sewing machine.
Because I have no idea how much the machine is worth, it is auction only.

The machine case measurements are: Bottom: Height: 33cm. Width: 23cm. Length: 49cm. The top of the case measures: Width: 20.5cm. Length: 47.5cm. Because the machine is elderly (like it's current owner!) I do not want to be responsible for sending it by courier. If you want to organise the courier then I am willing to be here when they pick the sewing machine up in it's case. I absolve myself of all responsibility for it once it leaves my home.
