  • Hi ! re speed. Does it plod along or sail along at a decent speed ? Does the reverse stitching work without bunching up ? thanks. mstikle (44) • 8:11 am, Fri, 17 Oct The speed is variable both via the foot control as well as a sliding control on the front of the machine above the red lit up on/off switch. The reverse stitching works perfectly fine. Thanks phill_k (233) • Friday, 17 October 2025
  • can you tell me how old it is? and why are you selling it? thx mstikle (44) • 10:50 am, Fri, 17 Oct I’ve had it from new since sometime in the 1980’s. I haven’t used it for a few years so best it goes to someone who will. Sorry I can’t be more specific about the age. phill_k (233) • Friday, 17 October 2025
  • what are the black things that look like washers?? thanks mstikle (44) • 11:11 am, Fri, 17 Oct I’m not sure which photo you’re referring to - one shows the embroidery and finishing discs and the one after that is the bobbins that come with the machine phill_k (233) • Friday, 17 October 2025
  • I'm asking about the black things in photo #10, which appear to show various stitches. btw, I just made an offer. mstikle (44) • 1:15 pm, Fri, 17 Oct Yes, those are the various stitch discs that come with the machine. At the time of purchase these were regarded as a top of the range sewing machine and they are still considered to be good machines due to their high quality precision genuine Swiss build. I bought extra discs, bobbins and sewing feet which are also included. phill_k (233) • Friday, 17 October 2025
  • I understand completely. I got the first Singer Touch & Sew machine for my high school graduation in 1968, which was expensive and top-of-the-line at the time. I used it until I immigrated from the US to NZ 2+years ago. I am all thumbs on new and new-to-me machines. Thank you for explaining things to me. If you have the manual, I'd really appreciate getting it. mstikle (44) • 4:56 pm, Fri, 17 Oct The 2 manuals are included, they’re also available online. It’s a very easy and logical machine to use. If you’re local I’m happy to demonstrate it and show you how it works. phill_k (233) • Friday, 17 October 2025
  • Thanks, but I'm in Wellington so it will need to be shipped to me. When and how will I know if you've accepted my offer. If not and done timely, I will bid in the usual way. mstikle (44) • 8:56 am, Sat, 18 Oct I declined your offer yesterday and you should have had notification of that. The starting price for the auction is $100 phill_k (233) • Saturday, 18 October 2025
  • does it come with a carry case? mstikle (44) • 10:34 am, Sat, 18 Oct Not in a traditional sense but the cover in the photos encloses the arm and you can see the carry handle on top. phill_k (233) • Saturday, 18 October 2025
  • Where is pick up? garywaynejames (285) • 9:11 am, Wed, 22 Oct Just south of Whangarei phill_k (233) • Wednesday, 22 October 2025
