This slab has been air-dried for over 10 years and was originally prepared for a custom project for a client in Italy. It is now available for a limited time.

Optional Kiln Drying: We can kiln dry this slab to a moisture content of 10–12% for an additional $150, completed at our Kumeu kiln facility.

About Totara Wood:

Totara (Podocarpus totara) is one of New Zealand’s most prized native timbers. Celebrated for its warm reddish tones, straight grain, and ease of carving, it was traditionally used by Maori for waka (canoes), carvings, and structures. Its naturally durable heartwood is perfect for indoor use and fine furniture.
