Important Notice for Buyers
Please do not bid on Swamp Kauri unless you are familiar with this unique timber or have worked with it before.
Swamp Kauri is a heritage wood, buried in the Northland swamplands for up to 45,000 years. While perfectly workable, it is not the same as freshly cut living timber.
- Many pieces naturally contain cracks, tension, or movement in the grain.
- Each piece is one-of-a-kind, requiring patience and respect when crafting.
- The true beauty of Swamp Kauri lies in its prehistoric character, not in perfection.
Please bid only if you understand and appreciate these unique characteristics.
Good luck, and thank you for supporting the preservation of New Zealand’s rare and ancient wood.
