This Canon FTb is working well and would be the perfect back up body for (e.g.) black and white photography while using your other camera for colour. The Canon FTb QL (Quick Load) was in production from 1971 to 1976 and built to the same high standards as the F1 pro camera. This example is the improved, second version, finished in classic black. It has normal wear marks but the interior is super nice and all shutter speeds sound good too, including the slow speeds. The top plate and lettering are both excellent. The viewfinder is clear. The mirror is super clean and the self-timer works well too. The mirror foam is new. The meter works well and a new battery has been fitted, but the readings are over by one stop - easily corrected by (e.g.) if using 400ASA film, set the camera to 200ASA. There is no wear at all on the pressure plate. A huge range of Canon FL and FD lenses are available for this model. The FTb cameras are now becoming quite sought after for their robust quality, easy of use and the extensive range of great Canon lenses that are available.
