Last used this beauty when it was new in 2003/2004. On that Occassion, I bought passage on a working freighter from San Francisco to New Zealand and back (a 2 month trip). I later immigrated to NZ in 2009.

Since then, it has set in a drawer (with the batteries out). Today, I fired it up and it went looking for satellites so I think it is in working order. It certainly was when I put it away way back then. Comes with a small flexible case so you can carry it on your belt or clipped onto your gear.
