Description
Selling here my beautiful MC275 - purchased new in February 2023. This is in imaculate condition, and will be supplied in the factory box, with all documentation and original packaging etc. As far as I can tell, there is not a mark on this - it is as close to new as could be expected.
Included are a near-new set of McIntosh branded KT88 tubes - these have had about 4mths use. I was running Gold Lion KT88's in this for most of its life. The driver/pre tubes are again McIntosh - supplied new with the unit. These have had approx 2mths of use. I will also supply a full set of Telefunken ECC81 and ECC83 tubes that I have used mostly in this amp. The Telefunkens give a wonderfully ambient, intimate presentation - whereas the McIntosh tubes have a bit more zap - you choose which you like best.
I have mostly used this to drive a pair of Tannoy Canterbury 15's - which has been a match made in heaven. I've compared it to a great many other amplifiers on these over the past two years, and genuinely, nothing matches the timbral density or inviting, but driving, sound. Iv'e beeen utterly blessed to own it. Ive also tried this on my Altec 19's, Klipsch K'horns, single-driver speakers, JBL's, Missions and others. It has yet to do anything other blow me away.
One huge advantage has been the ability to play absolutely anything - any genre - from hard electronica, through to orchestral music - it handles them all brilliantly, with power and subtelty. It is in a different league to the best amps I have had that it replaced - Pass XA25, PrimaLuna etc.
This is a hugely regretful, genuine sale. It's likely the Tannoys will follow at some point......
Shipping would have to be discussed. I am based in Wellington. Talk to me.
