Description
Lab 12 Dac 1 reference Dac.
This is the latest Dac from Lab 12 who are a boutique hifi brand from Greece.
This Dac takes the unusual approach of using 8 x phillips dac chips arranged in a ladder configuration to give a truly analogue sound. Nicely built with a very high quality internal architecture and power supply. High quality components used throughout. Dac also has some nice dual VU meters that give a vintage vibe.
This is a non OS dac with up to 192 KHz
The sound is generally quite neutral but still with a touch of warmth and heft in the bass. Very nice soundstage width and depth.
My view is that this replicates a very good vinyl set up, without the pops, clicks and scratches that come with vinyl!

Hi, any marks or scratches on the case? Any known issues? What make/model tubes come with? g**d (49 • 8:37 am, Thu, 22 May )Your answer Hi there...condition is perfect (mint) and no issues at all. It has elecro-harmonix 6922EH tubes. Only reason I'm selling is that I have a music server and DDC that is I2S so now using a dac that has that connection. stuart1927 (12 • Thursday, 22 May 2025 )Any idea as to what the best streamer would be. v******1 (27 • 2:10 pm, Thu, 22 May )Streamers? Various Eversolo models...hard to beat (entry level up to top end). Bluesound node is another good entry level. Higher end you have Eversolo, HifiRose and a million others.... stuart1927 (12 • Thursday, 22 May 2025 )
