Description
This machine will provide 95WRMS into 8 Ohm loads. With both channels driven into 4 Ohm speakers the power output is 140WRMS with 0.02% THD. Hi-Fi news & RR reckoned it was good for two in 1992 and it's rated for 620W out of the wall so hey, maybe. These units are rare in NZ. I owned the black model which was imported by a distributor as a sample along with the AI-5010 and AI-2010. This one was brought over by a Korean family.
(Caveats: I always use it in "direct" mode bypassing the tone controls because they drop a few dB from the volume. The power button has lost its sheen. The original links joining the pre/power amplifier stages, which are removed in order to pass the signal through an equaliser, are gone and so short RCA wires are used instead.)
