IN TRADE GennLab 5 Hz RAMM Speed Check Cassette
The Random Access Music Memory (abbreviated RAMM) is a system to easily locate and play any desired music selection on a tape.
The system works by recording an inaudible code signal (5 Hz) on the blank space between selections on a tape.
This Cassette is recorded for the RAMM system calibration of Nakamichi N-700ZXL and N-1000ZXL cassette decks:
- For Reel Motor Speed Adjustment in RAMM Slow Mode.
- For RAMM Detector Amplifier Gain Adjustment.
Tapes Recorded on new TDK, MAXELL or TEAC 17u tape
Each Cassette Tape is a Master tape (not a copy). Cassettes are recorded OFF SHELL using an OTARI 0.15" (3.81mm) Reel-to-Reel MX-5050BIII-F-P4 Production full-track tape recorder and professional test equipment. The Capstan motor of the tape recorder is controlled by digital Quartz- Locked PLL. This can work at standard speeds with 0.01% accuracy, and at any speed from 1-7/8 to 30 ips using an external clock generator. (If required a cassette can be recorded at 30 IPS)
Reproduction or Playback Head of the tape recorder is a 4-track 4-channel head to measure Level unevenness @ 400 Hz. PLEASE NOTE. Level unevenness is checked totally across the tape (not along the tape) before recording. Tapes with difference in Level more than 0.2 dB are discarded
Reproduction Equalization is calibrated using a Constant Magnetic Field Transducer which has been designed by GennLab.
Duration 30 min recorded at the from 00 min 10 sec to 30min 10 sec
Level fluctuation less than +/-0.1 dB measured. Typically +/-0.06 dB
Frequency fluctuation +/-0.01% measured
This Tape is equivalent to Nakamichi DA09061A Test Tapes
